Pretty as a Model

This all started while I was sharing my extensive catalog collection. A friend showed me a picture of one of the models, and said, "She looks just like you!" I had browsed this particular catalog numerous times, but was too enamored with the clothes to pay attention to any of the model's faces. As I collected more catalogs, I started looking for her (my) face. She was quite a busy bee in the early 1950s! Everyone has urged me to find out who she was. Being very interested in history, I've been quite intrigued to find out myself. I do not know her name. All I know is about some of her modeling career. I created this blog to reach as many people as possible, and hopefully find someone who knows who she is.

What I know: The earliest picture I saw of her was when someone posted a google image of a dress she really liked. I believe this photo is from the 1949 spring summer Aldens catalog (one I do not yet have in my collection).

In 1950, she modeled for Sears and Aldens. Here are some of the pages from those catalogs.

In 1951, she appeared in both Sears and Aldens.

In 1952, I could only find her in the Montgomery Spring Summer catalog.

In 1953, she appeared in the Sears catalog.

And finally, she appeared in just the Sears catalog in 1954.

Please feel free to share this page and send me an email if you happen to know anything about this woman. I want to end this post with a final picture; a side by side comparison of the two of us.
